End-of-Month Q&A

Welcome to our first End-of-Month Q&A! Here we’ll answer any and all questions you might have. Future Q&As will be posted on the last Saturday of the month.

Anonymous said: Will /v/ be playable?

Yes…eventually.

Anonymous said: Why does your dude have an egg for a head

You’ll have to ask /v/’s character designer.

Anonymous said: Interesting premise & snazzy trailer for Gamergate: the Game™. Can we expect stand-ins for some of the clickbait machine’s more outspoken personalities?

Thank you. There will be stand-ins for the people who are relevant to the story; they may not be necessarily be the ones you’d expect. Also, please note that this is not technically GamerGate: The Game, as outlined in our first post. More info on this to come in the future.

middleclassciswhitemale said: When this game is ready for release, will you be giving it to review sites like Kotaku or Polygon? Just wondering, for fairly obvious reasons.

On one hand, it would be interesting just to see whether or not they bother with a disclosure; on the other hand, it’s Kotaku and Polygon.

Anonymous said: Hey, do you guys need playtesters yet or is the game too early in development for that? If you do though, where can people contact you? Thanks.

It’s still a little early for playtesting. The alpha demo should be ready in early 2017; we’ll be releasing more details about how to participate in playtesting at that time.

Anonymous said: Really looking forward to the release of this game! Just wondering if there are plans for a Linux release?

I would really like to say yes, but I can’t promise that at the moment. It’s definitely something we’ll be looking into once the game is complete.

Anonymous said: Did people donate money to help support this game? If so how much?

As noted in the trailer, we do not have any investors, crowdfunding, or donations. In this day and age, the number of Kickstarter scams and Patreon leeches is simply appalling, and it is for this reason that we are refusing to take any donations prior to completion of the game. We’re going to do things the old-fashioned way: Finish the game before selling it.

Anonymous said: As a /pol/ack, I’d like to know what is /pol/’s role in this game. If he’s not playable, I suggest making him one, because it’ll appeal to us /pol/acks (meaning more buyers, duh). I must also say that the design of the previous /pol/ had a better hair style (which is used in most comics). Those degenerate dreadlocks need to be removed at once!

Our current plan for /pol/ is to have him as both an assist character/striker and a major NPC. As to his exact role in the story, you’ll have to wait and see. We don’t have plans to make /pol/ playable at the moment, but we’re always open to suggestions; you can send them in via our ask box.

/pol/’s design is supposed to be based on the comics and other OC, but I’ve left his final design down to our artist. He may get a redesign later on, however.

Anonymous said: stop making this cancer you faggot cucks

No. :^)

Anonymous said: Are you worried that Brianna Wu may do everything in his power to take your game down?

end-of-month Q&A ask me questions ask box Anomalous Games Project SOCJUS

Anonymous asked:

Hello! I hope this is is the right place to ask this because I have no twitter, tumblr, reddit - for now. I was curious if it were okay to make a design of Vivian James and sell it on a shirt? I had a really good idea and saw that there were a lot of people that already are selling designs of her. My idea does not portray her negatively or in any lewd fashion. I don't know if those people asked for permission or not, but I wanted to run it by you. If not, then I respectfully understand. Thanks!

As far as I’m aware, Vivian James is a public domain character, and can be used by anyone for any purpose they’d like. So by all means, go for it.

Minor correction, automod can't shadowban users, as that requires Admin privileges. What is can do is automatically remove or report comments/submissions that use certain keywords as put in place by the mods or if the user making the comment/submission fulfills certain perimeters (new account, negative comment karma, post history, etc), primarily for the purpose of making the process of playing wack-a-mole with trolls much easier for the mods.

Thanks for the information. I wasn’t aware of the specifics of how it worked; any previous posts I made referencing that were based on the sidebar of r/AutoModerator (for example, http://archive.is/q6yPm) which mentions that the automod is capable of shadowbanning users. The function of the in-game Automod is more to act as a kind of “riot control” tool, one that can be abused by unscrupulous moderators - just like the real one, in fact.
